Anyone who visited our Chamblee
office, has been greeted by “Maggie”. She was a great comforter for
so many of our clients that have had their pets pass away over the many years. In
fact, “Maggie” took a personal interest in their grieving moments; whether it was to greet a client in the parking
lot as their personal pet was escorted into the funeral home, or to offer comfort as they left. She made sure to greet everyone in some way.
“Maggie” was not
like a lot of cats that might shy away from strangers, but she would actually seek out clients. She offered comfort and support by just being there during
a time of need. Whether it was to enter the chapel uninvited to seek out
a scratch on the head, or to attack a purse for chewing gum, “Maggie” had a way of lightening up a grieving moment. Over the years, we have had countless clients relay heartening stories of how “Maggie”
helped them during their overwhelming sadness.
Most people do not expect to
see a live pet when they enter a funeral home. And, on that warm July evening
1991, we didn’t expect to find “Maggie” in our pet cemetery. She
outsmarted our hearts by getting into Doyle’s van without us knowing it. It
was like she was placed there for a special reason…..to help others in need.
Thank you “Maggie”
for your loving kindness, compassion and the richness you added to all our lives. Go
play and sleep, enjoying your endless happiness without pain, and know that we look forward to that day when we will see you
again……
Much love to you “Maggie”,
Maudann, Doyle, and Staff, and
all your many, many friends
You may visit “Maggie’s” corner memoriam at our Chamblee office after February 15, 2008
